Buy Google Play With Bitcoin

You might not know, but it is possible to buy Google Play with Bitcoin. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t directly support Bitcoin or other crypto as a payment method on the Play Store. However, there is an easy way to purchase your favorite Android Apps with Bitcoin by using the Google Play gift cards (aka Google Play Vouchers). In this post we will guide you step by step on how to purchase Google Play with Bitcoin. We will also list some cool apps you can purchase with crypto, thanks to the Google Play giftcard system.

What is a Google Play Giftcard?

Many Android apps are either Freemium or Premium, requiring the user to either pay for the App up-front or to make “in-App-purchases” on the Play Store. Google supports different payment methods on the Play Store, these vary depending on the country of the user, and generally include:

  • Credit Card
  • Paypal
  • Mobile Carrier Billing (paying with your phone credit)

However another very popular option is the voucher (or giftcard). The voucher is simply a package of credit worth a certain amount of dollars, euros or british pounds. For example a voucher can be worth 50 USD of Google Play credit.

You might have noticed these vouchers at the supermarket or at electronic stores. These are generally referred to as physical cards. Each voucher contains a unique code (a long sequence of numbers). In order to use the voucher you will need to first open the voucher package and retrieve the “unique code”, and then insert this “unique code” when you make the payment on the Google Play Store.

These vouchers are also called giftcards. Until they are redeemed, they are completely anonymous, anybody can use the “unique code”, so you can give it as gift to a friend.

Now the interesting thing, that you might not know, is that Google offers electronic Google Play vouchers. These work exactly like the phyiscal cards, except for the fact that they are sold online and the code is delivered to you instantly by email. With Cryptorefills, Google Play gift cards can be purchased online using bitcoin.

Click on the “Games” category. Then click on the Google Play icon.

  4. Select the Google Play voucher

Depending on the country you will be able to choose different packages with different price ranges and in different currencies. For example 5 Euro, or 50 USD or 100 GBP. Simply click on the package you prefer.

  5. Select the currency

Now select the cryptocurrency you prefer to pay with, for example BTC for Bitcoin or LTC for Litecoin. You will see the cost of the voucher based on the currency you select.

Insert your email and tick the box to accept the Terms and Conditions. Click on proceed to payment. (Make sure your email is correct so that the unique code can be delivered to you and you can be contacted in case of issues).

  7. Make the payment

Send the exact amount of crypto (e.g. Bitcoin) to the address displayed and follow the instructions. It is important you send exactly the amount displayed. You can use the QR code displayed on the page to make sure the address is correct and speed up this step.

  8. Receive the voucher

After a few minutes you will receive your code by email. The delivery of the code depends on the time to confirm the bitcoin transaction. Generally it will take a minute or two, but you might need to wait 5 or 10 minutes depending on how much the network is congested.
Attention: Please do not forget to check your spam folder in your email.
