The name on my booking doesn't match my passport

Act as soon as you notice. A name that doesn't match the traveller's passport or photo ID can mean being turned away at check-in, at the gate or at the property.

Why the name matters

Travel documents are non-transferable and must be issued in the name of the passport or photo identity of the person travelling. If the details on the booking do not correspond to that document, the booking may be unusable, and correcting it isn't something we can do on our own. Cryptorefills books as a disclosed agent between you and the named travel provider, so the provider's rules decide what happens next.

What to do now

  1. Sign in and open your order history.
  2. Open the affected booking and contact support from there. For a flight this reaches live chat with our travel provider, which is the fastest route available and matters most when departure is close.
  3. Have your booking reference and the exact spelling on the passport ready.

We can't promise that a correction will be allowed, or that it will be free. That decision belongs to the airline or property.

Checking before you pay

Before completing a booking, check the name, date of birth and document number for every traveller against the documents they will travel on. This is the one detail that is cheapest to fix before payment and hardest to fix afterwards.
