How to redeem an Amazon gift card

Adding your Amazon gift card balance takes three steps. Use the Amazon storefront that matches the region your card was bought for (for example amazon.com for a US card, amazon.co.uk for a UK card).

1. Copy the claim code

After your purchase, copy the claim code shown on screen or in your email.

2. Go to the Amazon redeem page

Visit amazon.com/gc/redeem and sign in to your Amazon account. In your account settings, go to "Apply a gift card to account".

3. Apply it to your balance

Under "Manage your balance", select "Redeem another Gift Card", enter your claim code, and click Apply. The amount is added to your Amazon balance immediately.

Good to know

Amazon gift cards are region-specific, so a US card only works on Amazon.com. Avoid applying gift cards to brand-new Amazon accounts that have no card on file, as this can trigger a temporary account check. If your code doesn't work, see my gift card code isn't working.
